Events Calendar

To create an event:
From the WordPress Dashboard click the Events Button on the menu on the left side of the screen.

Click Add New on the menu on the left side of the screen. Or the Add New next to the Events Title(top left of screen)

Enter the Event title at the top of the screen, this is what shows up on the actual calendar. Try to keep the title under 30 characters, anything more will get cut off in the heads up display when the mouse hovers over it.

Options:

Event Date and Time- Here you may enter the date and event start and end times .

  • You may select the repeat option where a pop-up menu allows you to set the event to repeat on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis.
  • You may Exclude Dates which blocks out all events for that date. Click the small Calendar icon which drops down to view three months at a time. To exclude a date click it and it turns blue then its blocked out. You may select one or multiple dates.

Event Location Details

  • Enter a Venue Name, this can be the name of the campus or a location with-in the campus or an off campus location.
  • Enter the address if necessary or leave it blank.
  • Check boxes allow you to add a Google map or GPS coordinates.

Event Cost and Tickets

  • Allows the input of ticket price or event price
  • Check box for Free Event or leave the entire section blank
  • Buy Tickets URL: Lets you link to a page to buy tickets or link to an external page like Ticket Master

Organizer Contact Info
Any information entered into this form will appear on the events page
Below
There is a large text box that allows you to type or copy and paste more details about the event.

Event Categories-Very Important!!!
To publish an event to your specific campus you must select the check box for your campus or else your event will be published to all Campus calendars.

  • You may select multiple campuses and categories in this section

Publish

  • This is the last section before you publish your event.
  • Save Draft– allows you to save your work can come back to it later
  • Preview– allows you to see what your event will look like but will not be live on the website. Great time to spell check and proof read. (must Save Draft before preview)
  • Publish– Click the publish when you’re done this makes the event go live to the website.

To delete an event:
From the WordPress Dashboard click the Events Button on the menu on the left side of the screen.
Hover the Mouse over the event Title an select the red button that reads “Trash”
