Fanno Creek

Spruce and Cedar

It rained a lot in April, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves. We started out the month with a tour of Creo Chocolate Factory in SE Portland where we learned how the cacao bean is grown, harvested, and processed into yummy chocolate treats! During the tour the residents were able to make their own chocolate bars to take home. There is a chocolate café in the lobby, so we were able to sample some of the treats that Creo is famous for. It was a informative, fun, and yummy trip!

Towards the end of the month we took a trip to the movie theater to see Born in China. The residents who attended were mesmerized by the vivid imagery the documentary provided, on the wild lands and animals of China’s backcountry. The people who were unable to attend have requested to have the documentary rented so they, also, can enjoy it on the big screen television at Fanno Creek!

We enjoyed a wonderful Easter Brunch on April 15th. The Easter Bunny crashed our brunch and brought much joy and laughter and many smiles to the residents and families alike!

May is looking like a busy month full of activity. We will be taking a special outing to the World of Speed to make one of our resident’s dreams come true! The month will also include a tour of iFly and the Shriner’s Iris Gardens in Salem. The highlight of the month by far is our Mother’s Day Tea hosted by the Doll House Tea Room on May 14th!
