Fanno Creek

Spruce and Cedar

We have had some interesting weather this year to say the least, and March was no exception with its super cold temperatures and abundant rainfall.
Nevertheless, we have a good time here at Fanno Creek! In-house activities each week include a visit from the Chaplain on Wednesdays, daily chair exercises, Brain Teaser games, movie nights, Memories in the Making art therapy, various musical artists, Arts & Crafts, Nature Activities, Bingo, one-on-one activities between staff and residents, weekly visits from a special family of home schooled children, visits from the students at St. Anthony’s  School, and a special favorite – therapy animal visits.

Our outing days are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Each month we go on two lunch outings, two dessert outings, two scenic drives, and two enrichments excursions. On certain months, were we have more than four Tuesdays or Thursdays, we are blessed with an extra enrichment excursion or two. In March we enjoyed dining at McMenamin’s and Elmer’s Restaurants. For our desert outings we feasted on fancy deserts at the Chart House in Portland and had some good old fashioned ice cream treats at the Dairy Queen. Our scenic drives took us out onto the back roads of Washington County. Taking in the beautiful views through the bus windows and enjoying casual chatter and quick witted banter between residents and staff make these outings extra special and fun.

We were fortunate to be able to go one three enrichment outings in March! The first one was to Live Laugh Love Art in downtown Tigard where the residents were able to make Fused Glass creations of their own! Our second enrichment outing took us to The World of Speed in Wilsonville! This outing was booked with.
