Ripe for Grazing

Gardening Resident

Feel free to wander through the Elite Care gardens and pick fresh, delicious snacks. Lettuce and other greens are ripe and ready to eat, as are strawberries, peas, cherries, blueberries, and herbs. But remember this safety tip: if you aren’t positive what it is, don’t eat it!

We had rose displays at each campus the week after the Rose Parade, and the fragrances were lovely. Looking ahead, we’ll have a study on all sorts of garden insects and look at some preserved in resin. We’ll hatch our own praying mantis egg case at each campus, and release around 150 babies into the gardens. The seeds were also sown in spring to create a special butterfly habitat, which we’ll raise at each campus as well.

Amenities that Matter: Our Gardens
